The OSD335x C-SiP integrates everything needed to implement a 1GHz Embedded Linux system into a single IC Package the size of a quarter, including the 1GHz Arm® Cortex®-A8 AM335x Processor from Texas Instruments, DDR memory, a power system that requires only a single 5V input, Oscillator, eMMC, EEPROM, and over 100 Passives. With the OSD335x C-SiP you don’t need to spend time with tedious tasks that do not add value to your system, like DDR routing or power sequencing. All of that is taken care of for you in our C-SiP module, now available in distribution. All you need to do is place the OSD335x C-SiP into your system and spend your time working on the items that will differentiate your product.

Beyond the time the OSD335x C-SiP will save you in the design process, it will also save you space and money. Utilizing semiconductor manufacturing flows, the OSD335x C-SiP occupies 50% less space than an equivalent design done with discrete components. The space savings and integration means you can produce smaller PCBs with less layers and use low cost design rules, significantly reducing the cost of every board you build. Also, with over 100 components integrated into a single IC package you will see savings on both your PCB assembly and when managing your supply chain.

New OSD335x C-SiP Reference Designs Available Today

With the release of the OSD335x C-SiP into full production we have also released several reference designs to help you get started with your Embedded Linux based design.

  • OSD3358-SM-RED platform: This updated version of our popular development board and reference design has all of the features of the original including 1Gb Ethernet, 4 port USB hub, and a host of sensors, but replaces the OSD335x-SM, eMMC, and Oscillators with the OSD335x C-SiP.

  • OSD335x C-SiP Sensor board: This design is a simple remote sensor board featuring the OSD335x C-SiP. It was designed to be the remote sensor node for the IOT Gateway and is a bare minimum implementation of a system using the OSD335x C-SiP. It also features the same Cypress WiFi module as the gateway along with a proximity sensor and IMU.
  • OSD335x C-SiP IOT Gateway: This board was designed as the hub for our Embedded World demo. It features a WiFi and Bluetooth module from Cypress Semiconductor as well as a dual 1Gb Ethernet Ports. This board was designed to be able to collect data either wired or wirelessly from many remote modules using different communication protocols and make them available to the internet. This gateway is the cornerstone of any large IOT application.
  • Building Automation/HVAC Gateway Controller: Designed by one of our community members, Calvin Slater, this design features everything you need in a Building Automation Gateway. It includes CAN, RS-485, Analog Sensors, Digital Inputs, Relays, Ethernet, and a provisioning system. Using the OSD335x C-SiP, this entire system was able to be completed in a single simple 4-layer board.

OSD335x C-SiP Lead Time

Now that the OSD335x C-SiP is officially in production it will have our standard lead time of about 12 weeks. You will also be able to get small quantities from our Catalog distributors Digi-Key and Mouser. Please make sure to coordinate with your local sales representative on scheduling.
