What to Expect in 2025 from Octavo Systems and the Semiconductor Industry

As we step into 2025, there’s a lot to be excited about in the semiconductor world. After a challenging period of slowdown, things are starting to pick up, and innovation is happening at every level. Here’s a look at where the industry is heading and what Octavo Systems has in store for the year ahead.

The Semiconductor Industry in 2025

The past couple of years have been tough for the semiconductor industry—unless you were in AI or data centers. Many customers were sitting on more inventory than they needed, which slowed down demand. But now, we’re finally seeing the market correct itself. As inventory levels stabilize, we’re expecting a strong rebound in the second half of the year. That means more opportunities, more production, and more exciting developments across the board.

And of course, AI isn’t going anywhere. In fact, it’s only becoming more pervasive, driving innovation up and down the technology stack. One of the biggest shifts we’re seeing is the push for AI on low-power embedded edge devices. Instead of relying on the cloud, more systems are becoming intelligent right where they are, making decisions on the spot with minimal power consumption. This is a huge opportunity for embedded systems, and it’s an area we’re particularly excited about.

What’s Coming from Octavo Systems

This year is going to be big for us at Octavo Systems. First up, we’re launching the OSD62-PM, built on the TI AM62. This system-in-package solution takes integration to the next level, packing both the processor and DDR into the same package to simplify design and reduce board space. Along with the new product, we’ll be rolling out development platforms to help engineers get started faster. And by the end of the year, we’ll have another exciting addition—a new device based on the STM32MP2.
