        Hi Tobias,

Thank you for pointing this out.  It should be corrected now.

        Please try again.

        Thanks,

        Greg

          Hi @colnel486,

After you create your account I have to give you access to the alpha group.  I have just done that.  You should now see the new forum.

          Thanks,

          Greg

              Hi Andy,

Thank you for the question.  Yes we do plan of creating our own development platform for the OSD32MP1 devices.  In fact we are in the middle of the definition phase now so if there are any features you would like to see please let us know.

In the meantime we do recommend getting started with the development boards from ST, especially the DK2 board.  Anything that is developed on these boards will be able to be transferred to a custom board built around the SiP.

              Thanks,

              Greg

                Hi Andy,

The original SBC Reference Design was developed to be an exact duplicate of the Beagle Bone Black.  We just used the standard BeagleBone images and device trees.  We never created one specifically for that reference design.

                Thanks,

                Greg

                  Hi Gzazo,

All of our OSD3358 devices have been tested to run at 1GHz.

You are correct that the speed bits are not programmed.  This is because of the process flow TI uses on the parts before shipping to us.

Can you give me some more information on the instability you are seeing?  What image version are you using?  What application is running?  What is actually happening when you see instability?

                  Thanks,

                  Greg

                    Hi lajash,

Yes the AM57x is something we are strongly looking at.  We are trying to narrow down what the correct configuration would be for a SiP.  Should we build it around the AM570, 1, 4, or 8.  How much DDR memory is required, what peripherals are required.

Can you give us any insights into your application and how you would be using the AM57?  What are your system requirements?

If you don’t feel comfortable discussing on the forum please contact us directly.

                    Thanks,

                    Greg

                      Hi Tom,

We just recently announced the availability of 1GB device for the SM here.  For the C-SiP we will be making those available sometime Mid 2019.

                      Thanks,

                      Greg

The 1GB parts are currently only available directly from Octavo Systems and there are minimum orders associated with them.  Please contact us through the Contact Page to talk to one of our Sales associates to help you further.

The PocketBeagle uses the OSD3358-512M-BSM.  The 1GB version is pin compatible with the 512MB version so you don’t have to redesign a board.  You just need to get a new board built with the different device.

                            Hi Ifenta,

Are you asking about RAM or Flash (eMMC)?

The OSD335x integrates the RAM so no external RAM can be added.  Our standard configuration comes with 512MB (4Gbit) RAM but we do have an option for up to 1GB (8Gbit) of RAM.

If you are are asking about Flash or eMMC that is external and can be configured to meet your needs.  eMMC is available in sizes up to 64GByte.

                            Thanks,

                            Greg

Thank you both for the feedback.  We are glad the BGA placement has been a benefit to you.  That was definitely one of our main goals when creating these devices.

Please keep sharing your thoughts.  We do take your feedback into consideration when developing our road map.

Yes those were announced by Freescale before they were acquired by NXP.  I still haven’t seen them in the wild.  Have you?

                                  Hi emh203,

We are not restricted to TI and I appreciate your input.  I have not looked at these NXP devices yet.  Besides the cores is there anything that stands out to you as a differentiator?  Any special peripherals that are must haves?

                                  Thanks,
                                  Greg
