Dear Team
According to OSD3358-SM-RED board reference schematic, there is a USB hub USB2534 which is providing multiple USB options on single board.we have below queries for the Hub.
1) Hub needs to be configured via third party application, USB Pro touch utility from microchip. Is there any ready made available tested configuration settings for USB2534 controller which we can set in USB Pro touch utility.
2) According to datasheet specifications of USB2534, VBUS_DECT pin voltage must be only 3.3V. Reference design of OSD3358-SM-RED has VBUS_DECT pin connected to TPS2051 OUT Pins(via Ferrite bead) which is providing voltage approx 5V. Do we need resistor divider between VBUS_DECT & OUT pin of TPS2051 to provide 3.3V to VBUS_DECT Pin?
Hey Hardik,
Apologies for the late response.
1. Based on the user manual, the USB Pro Touch utility connects via USB. So, you will have to tap into the USB interface and connect to a computer to do the software configuration.
Note that all of the configuration settings necessary are provided through strap pins and if you just copy the circuit configuration on OSD3358-SM-RED, you should have no issues setting if the PHY as host with 4 downstream ports.
2. You are correct. Ideally, VBUS_DET should be pulled up to 5V via a resistor divider. But, we have not had any issues with the direct connection.
Best,
Neeraj
