Hello –
We have this weird issue on some production boards where half of our lot, the SIP shutdowns down after about 20 seconds. These boards are raw from an assembly house, so the PMIC/EEPROM/STM are in the factory default state from Octavo.
Any suggestions on what we should be looking into?
We have done the obvious and probed power input to the SIP, all looks well. The current draw goes from about 350 mA and after 20 seconds the current draw is 0A.
mlarkin,
This is s new failure mode. Is firmware running on these boards? Is the behavior consistent or erratic on the boards that are shutting down?
Can you measure PMIC output voltages to check everything is OK? See https://octavosystems.com/app_notes/osd32mp1-power-system-overview/ for power rails and levels. Do you see activity on RSTn?
Please look for Turn-OFF conditions also described in Section 2.3 of the app note.
Best,
Neeraj
Hello,
We were able to resolve this yesterday.
Appeared to be instability on VIN, along with sequencing involving PONKEY. The PMIC TURN_OFF_SR was reporting issues with VIN_OK failure.
