What could be some of the issues I may see by just using the normal Bone-Debian OS on the Octavo Redboard? I know they use the same AM3358 processor but are packaged differently than the Beaglebone Black. The Octavo Redboard uses the SiP IC which houses the processor and other devices. it looks like the OS’s are 95% the same since it really is an edited version of Bone-Debian.
Willis,
You should be able to use images on Beagleboard.org on the RED board. Please make sure that the image boots with the RED device tree for proper board configuration
Best,
Neeraj
