Is is possible to use multiple SD cards with the OSD3358-512M-IND or OSD3358 ICB SIP?

The plan is to use MMC0 as usual but I was looking to potentially add a second card if possible.

If not, any work arounds people have used?

        Thanks,

        Ryan

          Ryan,

Yes, you can use multiple SD cards. There are 3 MMC interfaces for AM335x inside OSD335x. As you mentioned, you can use MMC0 for boot and additional SD cards on MMC1 and MMC2 interfaces. Please note that MMC1 interface is used for eMMC in OSD3358-ICB. So, you will need to use MMC2 for the additional SD card interface on ICB device.

            Neeraj, thanks for the reply.

I see the registers for MMC1 and MMC2 in the AM335x Technical Reference.

And I see how MMC1 was utilized in the OSD3358-BAS SBC ref design with the pinout.

What about MMC2 for the pinout?

I can’t seem to find information on where I could connect. Or would this be any GPMC AD pin?

              Ryan,

Please take a look at the Beaglebone Black Wireless(https://github.com/beagleboard/beaglebone-black-wireless/blob/master/BeagleBone_Black_Wireless_SCH.pdf) for an example use of MMC2. In this design, MMC2 is used for WiFi as SDIO interface.

              Neeraj
