Hello Forum,
I’m designing a new custom board using OSD335x-SM and my board should be as small as possible so I’m considering using a smaller crystal or an oscillator instead of the big crystal in the design guidelines (7A-24.000MAAJ-T from TXC).
I am thinking to use this crystal FL2400135Z from Diodes Incorporated, I chose it because it is smaller and have the same specs of the crystal in the design guidelines and I just wanted to make sure using this crystal is OK because the crystal is one of the most critical parts in the design.
FYI, I used two 18pF load capacitors with the new crystal and the 1M ohm resistor.
Finally, Instead of a crystal and two load capacitors, can I use an oscillator?
Waiting to hear from you.
Best regards,
Hello Mahmoud,
FL2400135Z looks good. You can use it as a replacement for 7A-24.000MAAJ-T.
Yes, you could use an oscillator too instead of a crystal.
Thanks for sharing your design files with us. We will review it and get back to you.
