Hello,
I’m trying to get familiar with the OSDM335x-SM-RED board. I’ve run into two issues that I haven’t been able to resolve.
1) I am having trouble getting the PRU to work. I’ve tried following a guide intended for the Beaglebone Black board and ran into problems.
The example I followed can eb found on this address: http://mythopoeic.org/bbb-pru-minimal/
I got stuck at the “Enable the PRU” step. The /sys/devices/bone_capemgr.9/slots path doesn’t exist on my system. I managed to find a different path, /sys/devices/platform/bone_capemgr/slots, but I cannot write into it even with root privileges.
Could you please point me in the right direction or provide a simple example on how to get the PRUs working under the provided linux image?
2) Another problem I ran into was when using the SDK RT Linux image provided by Texas Instruments (PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-RT-AM335X 05_02_00_10). I couldn’t getthe ethernet port to work. I tried contacting TI’s support forum, but no solution has been found yet.
Is there an image of RT Linux that works with no problems on this board?
Thank you.
For the PRUs, here are a couple of tutorial links that should help:
For the RT linux, you should be able to build an image using the instructions found:
https://www.digikey.com/eewiki/display/linuxonarm/BeagleBone+Black
See section “For am33x-rt-v4.14 (Longterm 4.14.x + Real-Time Linux)”. We have used these build instructions on an Ubuntu 16.04 VM.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
