Forums › Reference, Evaluation, and Development Boards › Micro SD card implementation in OSD32MP15x_RED.sch
Hello
I am working on a new design and I am working off of the OSD32MP15x_RED board as a reference. I am trying to understand the implementation of the Micro SD Card. On sheet 5 there is a net ‘SDMMC1_CD’ connected to pin named ‘CD#’ on the DM3BT-DSF-PEJS Micro SD Card holder. I can not figure out what this signal is for. I looked at the footprint of the manufacturer and can not match the ‘CD#’ pin to any pads. Is this some sort of Card Detection functionality?
Thanks for your help in advance
Gavin,
If you look at Note 2 on page 1 of the DM3BT-DSF-PEJS Micro SD Card datasheet, you can see that there is a Card detection switch (B) that corresponds to this pad on the symbol. On the footprint, the card detection pad is the slightly smaller rectangle in the upper right corner. If you extract the library from the Eagle schematics, you can check the pad names and mapping for the device.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Thanks,
Erik
Brilliant! Thanks for your help.
