Bill is President and one of the founders of Octavo Systems. He has over 35 years experience managing businesses from startups to Fortune 500 size. Bill spent 20 years at Texas Instruments during which he ran semiconductor operations, led TI’s consumer business, and served as President of Texas Instruments Asia Ltd. with responsibility for TI’s $300 million Pacific rim business. Bill later served as CEO of SBE Inc., a Silicon Valley supplier of WAN communication products, and Chairman of PowerFactor One, a fabless semiconductor company.
Bill is a BSEE graduate of Texas A&M and an MBA/Baker Scholar from Harvard Business School.
Gene is one of the founders and the visionary behind Octavo Systems. He currently serves as Chief Technology Officer. He is also a Professor in the Practice at Rice University in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. Previously, Gene was the Principal Technology Fellow at Texas Instruments where he built a career finding new opportunities and building new businesses to leverage TI’s DSP technology. Through this work he became highly regarded in the industry as a leader in DSP technology.
Gene holds 48 patents, has written over 100 papers/articles and presents at conferences around the globe. He has a BSEE from the University of Central Florida, a MSEE from Southern Methodist University, and a MBA from Texas Tech University. He is also a Fellow of the IEEE.
Masood Murtuza is the Manager of Package Engineering and a founder of Octavo Systems. Prior to joining Octavo, Masood was a Fellow at Texas Instruments where he held various leadership roles in the Packaging and Assembly Process Engineering teams. During his tenure at TI he introduced a number of new semiconductor packaging technologies. He also helped advance innovation in technology development across the company by establishing new methodologies in package and assembly development process.
Masood holds 25 patents and has authored or co-authored over 15 papers. He received his BTech in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India and an MSc in Naval Architecture from University College, University of London.
Kevin Troy is the Product Development Manager at Octavo Systems. Prior to joining Octavo, Kevin spent 30 years developing embedded systems for the Industrial, Consumer, Semiconductor, and Defense industries creating products ranging from hand-held digital cameras to stadium-sized outdoor video display systems. Through this work he gained experience in electrical, electronic, mechanical, software, firmware, logic, and ASIC design.
Kevin earned his Bachelor of Science as well as a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
Erik Welsh is the Applications and Systems Manager for Octavo Systems. Erik comes to Octavo after spending 3 years as the Principal Systems Architect at Mango Communications developing platforms for cutting-edge wireless research targeting the WARP (Wireless Open-Access Research Platform) project. Prior to that, he spent 11 years at Texas instruments in a variety of engineering and customer support roles. He began his career as an SoC (System-On-Chip) designer eventually leading SoC Security Architecture development. He later spent time as an Applications Engineering supporting industry leading customers in the PC industry.
Erik earned a Bachelor of Science and Masters in Electrical Engineering from Rice University.
Greg Sheridan is the Marketing and Sales Manager for Octavo Systems. Before joining Octavo he held multiple sales and marketing roles at Texas Instruments. Most recently Greg was the Houston Account Manager where he helped define the TI strategy for High Temperature Electronics and High Precision ADCs. Before that he was in a central marketing role where he worked to develop system level solutions for target markets.
Greg has a BS in Computer Engineering and a MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He also has a MBA from the Scheller School of Business at Georgia Tech.
Sam Duyka is the Operations Manager for Octavo Systems. He brings over 30 years of experience to Octavo in the Offshore Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) industry. Sam held multiple management positions in both Operations and Sales for some of the largest OSAT providers. He started his career at Texas Instruments and served as a manager in both Operations and Financial planning. Throughout his career he has focused on meeting and exceeding customer expectations by delivering product on time and within budget.
Sam received a degree in marketing from the University of Houston. He is also an entrepreneur founding a Sales and Marketing firm that promotes his patented consumer products as well technology from other innovative companies.
Neeraj is an Applications and Systems Engineer at Octavo Systems. As a recent graduate, Neeraj is excited to be a part of Octavo’s highly experienced team. He is also excited to help Octavo change the face of electronic design and manufacturing. With diverse research experience in Hardware Design, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Signal processing, Neeraj brings a fresh perspective to the team.
Neeraj earned his B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) in Electronics and Communications Engineering from The LNM Institute of Information Technology, India and an Masters in Electrical Engineering from Rice University.
